Dayramir Gonzalez was honored to be invited to perform and present his unique ensemble, The New York/Cuba Collective, a project with the vision of bringing young jazz musicians from New York City to Havana, Cuba. The New York/Cuba Collective consisted of James Robbins on bass, Tiago Michelin on drums, Taka Nikaido on percussion and two special guests: saxophonist and educator Chad Lefkowitz-Brown and maestro Aaron Goldberg on piano/keys. They performed as an ensemble at three different music high schools and taught masterclasses about harmony, composition, improvisation, sound development and stage etiquette. Very important tools to share with aspiring professional music students.
“The whole week was fantastic. We had lunch a couple times at my mom’s house and had a blast experiencing the Cuban culture by attending other artists’ concerts and workshops. We were able to make such a remarkable experience thanks to the support of the Arts and Cultural Bridge Foundation. Thank you so much Suzanne Thompson!”-Dayramir Gonzalez
Arts and Cultural Bridge Foundation thanks our supporters: Ed Harris, Ed Ferrer, Alice Stek, Bonnie Raitt, Philip Acosta and Mari Riddle.
Dayramir Gonzalez held master classes at the National School of Arts (ENA) in Havana.
