The Arts and Cultural Bridge Foundation pays tribute to women around the world for International Women's Day with an afternoon of music, film, poetry, performance and visual arts, Sunday, March 12, 2017

The Arts and Cultural Bridge Foundation pays tribute to women around the world for International Women's Day with an afternoon of music, film, poetry, performance and visual arts, Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center in Venice. The celebration brings together eight Venice-based women artists from five different countries with Cuban woman filmmaker Claudia Rojas to share experiences, challenges and beauty, through the arts.

International Women's Day celebrates and honors the role of women in people's lives. Claudia Rojas, the third participating artist in the Foundation's cultural exchange program, will be premiering her short documentary film "Window Seat", an intimate view of a young girl's struggle to remain with her mother.

The eight Venice-based women participating in the afternoon celebration include: writer and educator Greta Cobar, inspired by her Romanian heritage, will share the history of International Women's Day; Slovenian born video artist and filmmaker Nataša Prosenc Stearns presents Nightmares of the New World; Chilean singer Jacqueline Fuentes; musician AfrikaSa/Bridget Graham; performance artist Amy Kaps, Puerto Rican-American poet Gloria Vando; printmaker Kay Brown and artist Emily Winters of the Venice Arts Council. Photography by Amy Kaps and the Arts and Cultural Bridge Foundation and art by Kay Brown and Emily Winters will be available for sale in the lobby.
