The tour kicked-off on International Women’s Day in Hollywood at the Egyptian Theater. This highly successful event sparked interest by members of film community which led to a Women In Film delegation to the 35th Annual Habana Film Festival (aka: International Festival of New Latin American Cinema). Some special memories of the trip included visiting the International Film and TV School in San Antonio de las Banos and meetings with Cuban filmmakers. The school aims not only to provide a comprehensive theoretical and practical cinema education, but also to exist as a completely self-sufficient environment and community for its students, faculty members and staff.
