Claudia first presented her work in the US during the 2013 Cuban Women Filmmakers U.S. Showcase. Later the same year, a Women In Film LA delegation to the International Film Festival in La Habana, Cuba was organized. Claudia and other Cuban filmmakers participated in meetings, studio visits, presentations and gatherings with U.S. filmmakers and shared experiences and insights into the film industry in Cuba.

Claudia documented the foundation’s first cultural exchange filming LA based performance artist Amy Kaps at the 8th Annual Bienal de La Habana at Nelson Dominguez’s studio in La Habana Vieja in May 2015.

Claudia premiered her short documentary “Window Seat”, an intimate view of a young girl’s struggle to reunite with her family, at the Foundation’s International Women’s Day Celebration, March 12, 2017 at Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center in Venice, California. The celebration brought together eight Venice-based women artists from five different countries with Claudia to share experiences, challenges and beauty, through the arts.

One of the Arts and Cultural Bridge Foundation’s directives is to support projects that bring an awareness to wider audiences of the status of the LGBTQ community in Cuba. The cultural exchange also provided opportunities for Claudia to further develop her screenwriting skills. She met with entertainment professionals to discuss her screenplay “Repatriation” (Repatriation), which features love between two women. “Repatriación” won best unpublished script at the Festival Internacional del Cine Pobre de Gibara, (International Festival of Low-Budget Cinema of Gibara, Holguin). Claudia premieres her new documentary film “Sara y Diana La Victoria” on December 11, 2017 at the Festival International del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano, La Habana, Cuba.

The Arts and Cultural Bridge Foundation congratulations Claudia on her success and looks forward to bringing more artists together in 2018, to build a deeper understanding and dialogue between people through the arts.
